In a press release issued today, announced the new Canadian Border Crossing Records Collection, comprised of more than 1 million documents, some containing passport-type photos of immigrants. The records cover the years from 1895-1956.

The records were culled from more than 100 land-ports of entry, from Washington to Maine, including the busy ports of Niagara Falls, Buffalo, Detroit, Montreal, Vancouver and Toronto. And many smaller ports like Calais, Van Buren, Vanceboro, Fort Fairfield, Eastport, Fort Ken, Lubec, Madawaska and other Maine ports; Baudette, International Falls, Duluth, Mineral Center, Warroad and other Minnesota ports; Hogansburg, Malone, Nyando, Waddington, Lewiston, Rochester and other New York ports; Newport and St. Albans, Vermont, and Babb, Montana.
